The Definitive Guide to Packaging Your Parcel for a MuyuRide Delivery

In our analysis of every disputed delivery in 2025, inadequate packaging was the cause of damage in 67% of cases. Not traveler negligence. Not road conditions. Packaging. This guide will help you package your parcel so it arrives in perfect condition — no matter what the journey throws at it.

The Golden Rule of Packaging

Package your parcel as if it will be dropped from 1 meter, shaken vigorously, and stored upside down for 8 hours. If it survives that in your imagination, it's packaged well enough for a MuyuRide delivery.

Electronics

• Wrap in at least 5cm of bubble wrap on all sides.
• Place in a rigid box — never a soft bag.
• Fill all empty space with packing peanuts or crumpled paper.
• Mark the box "FRAGILE — ELECTRONICS" on all sides.
• Consider the Premium insurance plan for items over KES 30,000.

Documents & Certificates

• Place in a rigid envelope or cardboard tube for certificates.
• Use a waterproof plastic sleeve inside the envelope.
• Mark "DO NOT BEND" clearly.
• For irreplaceable documents, always use a rigid box, not an envelope.

Food & Perishables

• Only send non-perishable food without a cold-chain agreement.
• For perishables, select "Cold Chain Required" when creating your order.
• Pack liquids in sealed containers inside a zip-lock bag inside the main package.
• Never send raw meat or fish without a verified cold-chain traveler.

Clothing & Soft Items

• Use a sealed plastic bag inside the outer packaging to protect from moisture.
• Soft items can be used as padding for other items in the same package.
• For expensive clothing, use a rigid box to prevent crushing.
